Annual Sports Day on 15th Nov’14

JIMS Inter-campus Annual Sports Meet was organized on 15th November, 2014 at DDA Jasola Sports Complex, New Delhi. Students, faculty and staff from all JIMS campuses participated enthusiastically in events such as Table Tennis, Badminton, Basket Ball, Volleyball and Football. In addition, various track and field events were also conducted. Trophies and Medals were presented to the winners by our Chairman, Dr. Amit Gupta and Directors of Kalkaji, Greater Noida and Lajpat Nagar Campuses. All the students of JIMS campuses cheered the students with great zeal, spirit and enthusiasm.






Workshop - How to increase your Brand value - 10th November 2014

A workshop on “HOW TO INCREASE YOUR BRAND VALUE” was organized at JIMS Kalkaji on 10th November, 2104. It was conducted by Mr. Cedric Kenny, Founder/Director-Studio of Expression. It was a highly motivating and fervent workshop for the students with regard to the improvement of their personality and brand. The objective of the workshop was to share the different behavioral dimensions of organizational effectiveness effecting smartness, active habits, energy, enthusiasm and self confidence to increase an individual’s brand value.

Entrepreneurship WEEK from 4th-8th Nov, 2014

E-Cell of JIMS Kalkaji organized an Entrepreneurship Week from 4th November- 8th November, 2014. The event was marked by a series of lectures, quizzes and business competitions to create awareness about Entrepreneurship among students, enable them to showcase entrepreneurial talent, encourage them to participate in activities which would stimulate out- of box thinking and inculcate spirit of risk taking. The activities were designed accordingly and participation from the host campus as well as the participating colleges from Delhi university, Jamia- Millia and other AICTE- Approved Campuses drew fruitful results. Some of the major events were Business Quiz, Movie Magic, Campus Company and Business Plan competition. 





National Unity Day on October 31, 2014

To commemorate Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's legacy our Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi declared October 31, 2014 as ‘The National Unity Day’, to spread awareness about Patel's contribution to Indian history.


The Institute celebrated the same in the auditorium of the campus. The spirit of motivation and unity was amplified with a presentation on Sardar Vallabhai Patel along with a documentary on his life. Students from PGDM also expressed their gratitude towards his sacrifices for the nation and also pledged for the spirit of unity. Towards the end, National Anthem was played to integrate the spirit of patriotism.




Panel Discussion: Retailing in India- Issues, Challenges and Prospects - 18th Oct, 2014


A Panel Discussion on "Retailing in India- Issues, Challenges and Prospects" was organised on 18th October 2014. The eminent panelists included Mr. Kishore Chakraborti, Vice President, Consumer Insight and HFD (Human Futures Development), Mr. Ranjan Paul, India Country Manager and Director, Net Serv India Pvt. Ltd. and Mr. Pradeep Narula, Group President, Wave Inc. 
The eminent speakers highlighted the fact that India is the most attractive retail destination today with abandon on opportunities, growing at 25% - 30% and is estimated to be $ 470 billion. The organized retailing with 6% shares stands at $ 26 billion. It is projected to reach US$ 1.3 trillion by 2018 with the organized retail market estimated to grow at the compounded annual growth rate of 40%. The discussion revolved around an irreversible change in consumer buying habits and businesses related to serving these retailers. However, unlike many other countries, India has its own unique character of size, geographical spread, cultural diversity and multiplicity of formats being introduced at quick succession. Retailers also face the challenge of development infrastructure, on their own or in cooperation with the government.

Recent retail trends, opportunities for national and international players was also discussed. The panel acknowledged the deficiencies and problems related to backward and forward integration of supply chain, setting up of physical retail stores, training and management of sales force. The discussion was a rich learning experience for the audience. 



SPECIAL LECTURE SERIES (1) - 17th OCT, 2014

To begin with the 'Special Lecture Series' JIMS Kalkaji, New Delhi invited Mr. Anil Sinha – Regional Director – inclusive Business South Asia, World Bank on 17th October 2014. The topic of the lecture was "Promoting Inclusive Growth in SAARC Countries through Strategic Investments/Development". It was highlighted by Mr. Anil Sinha that the South Asia is the world's least integrated region in terms of Regional Trade. Inclusive growth is essential for the South Asian countries and World Bank is supporting these countries in this direction. Mr. Sinha shared the barriers of documentation, infrastructure, political issues etc. of regional trade among South Asian Countries. He made the audience aware of the Regional Trade Facilitation and Regional Investment Facilitation initiatives of the World Bank to improve the Regional Trade among these Countries.


He strongly emphasized on the inclusive growth of India and South Asia for the economic upliftment of the common man. At the end of the lecture, questions from the audience were answered by Mr. Sinha. This lecture was very interactive and informative. More lectures in the series are planned for the benefit of students.

Workshop- Finance for the Non-Financial Manager - 14th October 2014



JIMS, Kalkaji, New Delhi organized a one-day Workshop on "Finance for the Non-Financial Manager"  on Tuesday, 14 October 2014 in association with PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industries and Konrad 
Adenauer Foundation of Germany at PHD House,Siri Fort Institutional Area, New Delhi. Director,  Dr. (Cdr.) Satish Seth and Mr. C M Krishna Honorary Adviser, PHDCCI, welcomed the delegates from  the Industry and Corporate. The Workshop focused on the basic knowledge of the financial principles and  their application for decision making by the Non-Financial Managers. The Workshop was divided into 04  sessions covering understanding of Financial Statements, Analysis of Financial Statements, Budgetary control 
and Variance Analysis and Working Capital Management. Dr. J K Batra, Dean JIMS, Dr. Amit Bagga faculty
 JIMS, Mr. Ravi Tulshyan Manager Power Finance Coopration and Mr. Piyush, Manager Citi Bank were the 
speakers who shared their rich expertise and experience with the delegates.
